The Celtic Cross Symbol
The true origin of the Celtic cross is not known but there is one theory that suggests that it represents the four elements of earth, fire, air and water.
Others would have you believe that the Cross was created by Saint Patrick who combined the Celtic circle, which represents eternity, with the Christian Cross in an attempt to covert pagan Irish people from believing in the regenerative powers of the sun. There is also a belief that the symbol represents knowledge, strength and compassion.
