Great Place to Stay

We spent one night at the Shamrock Arms as a stopover on our way to Kruger National Park.  We were greeted warmly by the hosts Terry & Belinda.  We love historic buildings so we appreciated the pretty stone inn & beautiful gardens.  We had made a dinner & breakfast reservation. Both were delicious & plentiful.  Our room was comfortable & we slept well after a LONG flight from the USA.  The hosts shared maps & information with us which were very helpful for the rest of our trip.  We would definitely recommend the Shamrock to other travellers.

Lovely place with a wonderful host.

The hospitality from the host was amazing.  We felt right at home from the beginning.  The rooms were cozy & clean.  The homecooked meals (breakfast & dinner) were very nice.  The accommodation itself was perfect.  The only thing i could think about that i wouldn’t like is the town in which the accommodation is located.  But we used this accommodation as a stopover, so it was not a problem.

Business

Really loved the Irish experience.  Terry the owner, was really friendly & helpful.  The rooms were more than adequate & the breakfast delicious.  Especially enjoyed a drink or two at the bar.  I am looking forward to my next visit.

Awesome.

Perfect place to stop off on the way from Johannesburg to Kruger.  Actually, we were sorry we only booked one night.  Sue & Charles are great people.  Sue is the perfect sweet hostess & Charles is champion with steaks.  Try Irish Coffee.  Best we ever got.  We were kind of lucky.  Because it was quiet we could also cozy with Sue & Charles talk about anything & everything.  Hope Charles gets his Toyota cup soon and Sue gets some rest and/or takes to give everything a place.

A very warm welcome.

Sue is so friendly & welcoming.  We had a pleasant drink on the verandah followed by a delicious dinner.  A good sleep in the comfortable room.  We arrived early but Sue made us tea & relaxed until our room was ready.  It’s a perfect stopover en route to the Kruger & just a few minutes off the highway.

The staff were very nice, the dinner delicious, & we liked the breakfast as well.  The location is also good, & the wi-fi works perfectly.  We stayed for one night.

Nice little B&B

We only stayed one night passing through to the Drakensberg mountains.  Nice landlords – Sue & Belinda hosted us in the evening & in the morning – without electricity there loadshedding – a hot breakfast conjured up.  The rooms are ‘all in line’ with the door to the porch.  Nice breakfast / lounge with a small bar for the evening.  Environment is not very inviting.  Dinner at the property is probably the best option.

Excellent stop after an exhausting flight to Johannesburg.  Was fine to drive, have slept there almost 10 hours.

Reception & Food Good.    Fine, may be modernized, but it’s part of the history of the house…..
